Biography

Joelle Malette was called to the bar in 2005. For the first 16 years of her career, she practiced law with a litigation boutique predominantly representing Plaintiffs in personal injury matters. In 2021 she launched Malette ADR | RED, a dispute resolution firm offering complete dispute resolution services in French and in English. She is a part-time law Professor at the University of Ottawa, Faculty of Law where she has taught advanced dispute resolution and currently teaches the art of advocacy. She is also a part-time adjudicator on the Transport Appeal Tribunal of Canada, the Social Benefits Tribunal of Ontario, and the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario. She is a bencher at the Law Society of Ontario. She also enjoys facilitating workshops. She has assisted several employers by providing dispute resolution workshops including how to have difficult conversations. She has trained hundreds of mining supervisors on due diligence and the importance of record keeping.
