Biography

Natalia Rodriguez is a bencher of the Law Society of Ontario and a partner at Conway Baxter Wilson LLP, a boutique litigation firm in Ottawa. She practices civil litigation and dispute resolution, focusing on commercial litigation, public and administrative law and appellate advocacy. Natalia graduated from Queen’s University Faculty of Law in 2010 with the Silver Medal in Law. She holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Western Ontario and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Ottawa. Prior to her legal career, she was an elementary and high school teacher. Natalia is a former judicial law clerk to Justice Louis LeBel of the Supreme Court of Canada and to Justices Juriansz, Laskin and Goudge of the Court of Appeal for Ontario. From 2012-2014, Natalia served as Commission Counsel for the Elliot Lake Commission of Inquiry, investigating the collapse of the Algo Centre Mall and the subsequent emergency response. In 2022, Natalia was appointed Senior Commission Counsel to the Public Order Emergency Commission, inquiring into the events leading up to the federal government’s invocation of the Emergencies Act, the reasons for the invocation and the measures taken thereunder. Natalia is an active member of The Advocates’ Society, the County of Carleton Law Association, and both the Canadian and Ontario Bar Associations. She is a former Director of the Canadian Hispanic Bar Association and is fluent in English and Spanish.
