Biography

Nicole was called to the Ontario bar in 2010 and holds law degrees from McGill Law School in both common law and civil law traditions. Following her call to the bar, she gained experience in various regulatory bodies, including the Law Society of Ontario, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, and the Royal College of Dental Surgeons, in the areas of complaints and investigations. Nicole later transitioned into adjudication, serving municipal, provincial, and federal tribunals such as the Toronto Licensing Tribunal, License Appeal Tribunal for automobile accident benefits, and the Immigration Appeal Division of the Immigration and Refugee Board.

Currently, Nicole serves as the bilingual General Counsel for the United Church of Canada, where she provides legal advice on church governance, real estate, labour and employment, human rights, privacy, administrative law, and intellectual property matters.

She is fluent in French, Spanish, and English, and has social proficiency in Japanese and Estonian.

In her spare time, Nicole mentors law students at McGill University through the Black Mentorship Program and has previously served as a Board member of Planned Parenthood Toronto for 7 years.
