Biography

Sophie Martel rejoins the Law Society Tribunal, having previously served as a Hearing Division, lawyer appointee from 2015 to 2017. She is also concurrently appointed to the Ontario Physicians and Surgeons Discipline Tribunal as an experienced adjudicator. Additionally, Sophie previously served as an adjudicator with the Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal and the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario. Fluently bilingual, Sophie can hear matters in both French and English. She completed a B. Com. Hons. at the University of Ottawa and her LL.B. at the University of Toronto. Sophie is a frequent contributor to the Certificate in Adjudication for Administrative Agencies, Boards and Tribunals, a joint program of Osgoode Professional Development and the Society of Ontario Adjudicators and Regulators.
