Biography
Edward Choi is a Partner at Metcalfe, Blainey & Burns LLP. His practice includes civil litigation, dispute resolution, real estate, wills, as well as corporate and commercial transactions. Edward regularly appears before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and a number of administrative tribunals.
Edward graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of New Brunswick. He was Called to the Bar of Ontario in January 2017. In addition to his JD degree, Edward also holds a LLM in Arbitration and Dispute Resolution from the University of Hong Kong, a LLB from Queen Mary, University of London, a BBA (Honours Bachelor of Business Administration) from Wilfrid Laurier University, a Certificate in Ethics from TMU (formerly Ryerson University), a post-degree Diploma in Accounting from the University of Western Ontario, and a BEd (Adult Education) from Brock University. Prior to practicing law, Edward held positions in the private, public, not-for-profit, and educational sectors.
Edward is a member of the Christian Legal Fellowship, the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers, the Christian Legal Society, the Runnymede Society, the Ontario Bar Association, and the Canadian Bar Association. Edward currently serves as a Bencher of the Law Society of Ontario, a Vice Chair on the Markham Public Library Board, a Member of the Race Relations Committee of the City of Markham, and as a volunteer and advisory member of the CCM Canada Toronto Centre Legal Clinic.
Outside of the office, Edward enjoys travelling, learning and exploring, socializing, skiing, biking, volunteering and advocating for his community.
